chapter 4 The Marketing Environment

 Dr dre created his headphones with the millennial generation in mind also called generation Y; this generation may be the most techs savvy when it comes to technology and music.
“People are not hearing the music,” says the American rapper and producer, artist as well as producers work endless hours in the studio perfecting their sound but people really cannot hear it with a normal headphone. Most headphones can’t really handle the details, the bass, or even the dynamics of the music bottom line is music does not move you it’s the beat of the music.
The uniqueness and durability of a beats headphone is what drives consumers into purchasing this headphone. People are going to hear what the artist hear and listen to the music the way they should. Dr dre realized that consumers needed a headphones that they could rely on and is durable there is no doubt that this is one of the most trusted name brand headphone used by dj’s, producers and young people.

Simply having his headphones on social media sites shows that dr dre cares about the generation; Dr dre uses Facebook and other social media sites to keep up with the quick changing generation and to introduce his headphones to his new and old headphones. These headphones can make a perfect Christmas or birthday gift. Today beats by dr dre headphones are almost on every social media out there showcasing their cool products to a hip and cool life style generation.

Social media and marketing

Social media have become part of most people daily lives today but it’s been around longer than Facebook and twitter. Social media has always been about two things: socializing and information gathering.

This is what dr dre has been using social media to do. He also uses it for listening and learning to his consumers and fans, building a relationship of awareness with them, promoting his headphones, managing his reputation and last but not least improving his customer service.

Dr dre along with his team has been using his retailers to develop and improve the brands reputation by responding to comments and reviews from authorized retailers like best buy, amazon and target just to name a few.

Promote products and services, this is a part that dr dre and his team takes very seriously over the years from my experience they have done an extraordinary job in doing so whether its on YouTube, Facebook, twitter or blogs. There is no doubt in my mind that one out two people have herd about beats headphone after all its one of the most trendiest products on the market today.

YouTube has been dr dre best friend in promoting a new product. The sheer numbers on YouTube are telling: Beats by Dre has 261,953 subscribers to its YouTube channel.
